Don’t let this trailer fool you; there’s a lot more to this film then I could fit into a couple of minutes. This one’s a doozy. THE GREEN SHEIK was the first film I made after graduating from CALARTS. Somehow I thought it would be a good idea to shoot my first ‘serious’ short on 35mm. In the end it was a good idea, and I learned so much on this project - but it was a little insane, not to mention time consuming. It’s the simple story of Lawrence (played to perfection by close friend and fellow film maker JOAHNNES GAMBLE) a down and out junk shop worker living in a surreal skid-row. An old broken down motor-scooter shows up at his work one day, inspiring him to dream of a better life in the form of a Technicolor day dream, away from his over bearing boss, annoying co-worker, and his impossibly depressing matchbox of an apartment.
